Window card for Scarlet Seas (1928). Window cards are pretty much what they sound like - about the size of lobby cards and placed in the windows of the cinema to advertise the film. Sold here for $30 in March 2011, though the same card is now being sold here for $150!

Still from The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come (1928). During an extended trip to the big city Chad meets the beautiful daughter of Major Buford’s neighbours, Margaret Dean (played by Doris Dawson). But what about Melissa? And what about the war? Oh, the tension is too much. Sold here.

Lobby card for The Wheel of Chance (1928). A still from the film’s climax - the lawyer brother examines his evil long-lost twin. It’s quite impressive that they could do something so technical in the early days of cinema. This is why 1920s film wasn’t just exaggerated facial expressions! Sold here.

Lobby card from The Wheel of Chance (1928). No prizes for guessing the trial’s verdict, or who gets the girl… Sold here.

Lobby card for The Wheel of Chance (1928). The family enjoys a Sabbath before the pogrom drives them to America. The father of the family was played by Werner Oland, who is perhaps better remembered as Charlie Chan. Sorry again for the photo! Sold here.

Window card for Twenty One (1923). RB and his lovely girlfriend are both under the age of consent (21 years old), but their car breaks down and there’s only one room in the hotel… Oh the hilarity! Sold here.
